Paleokastritsa is undoubtedly one of the most popular holiday destinations in Corfu. Its unspeakable natural beauty became widely known in the 1950s by English travellers and it has maintained its prestige up to these days.
The area is just 25 km from the city center and consists of two peninsulas and six smaller bays. Its blue-green waters, pebbles and golden beaches have never failed to mesmerize the visitors. The beauty of the natural landscape of the area has remained unchanged over time and classify Paleokastritsa as one of the most picturesque parts of Greece.
At the top of the hill, you will find the historic monastery of Panagia Paleokastritsa, built in 1225, with Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons being kept in its sacristy. The monastery is built on a steep cliff and its view is breathtaking.
